First Customer at Nice Time Market

Nice Time Receipt from 2024

You’re looking at the first receipt from when the new Nice Time Market opened on my corner of South Minneapolis! Alicia and I showed up about 15 minutes before opening on their first day (7/14/2024), excited to see what went into the old Tom Thumb location.

It’s a lovely grocery store with enough essentials and treats to make it an asset to the neighborhood – perfect for that missing ingredient you forgot at a bigger store, or for a last minute weeknight meal, or for a delicious treat on a warm summer evening.

This receipt was hanging on our refrigerator in Minneapolis since then, but as you can see, the sun and general exposure to lighting has sorta put it’s foot in the door. Thus, it’s getting archived here.

Neighborhood Art

Like all of you, I’ve been out walking the neighborhood significantly more than ever before. I’ve previously featured street art from NYC on this blog, feeling pretty jealous of all the art everywhere in that city.

Turns out, there’s plenty of it here. Here’s some of my favorites, just to give South Minneapolis a little bit more art cred.
